Blossvale- Ella K. Meinen 92, formerly of Pine Road passed away April 30, 2012 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in the Town of Vienna, NY on Dec 6, 1919 a daughter of Arthur & Esther Tofte Kimball. On Dec 16, 1939 she married Robert B. Meinen in Oneida, NY. Mr. Meinen passed away July 7, 1994. Ella served nearly 20 years with the United States Post Office, Blossvale, NY. First as a letter carrier, then as Postmaster, retiring in 1986. She was also a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Maria & James Sasenbury, Blossvale, NY, daughter-in-law, Diane Ames, Cortland, NY, four grandchildren, Justin, Melissa, Amanda and Jimmy Joe, 8 great grandchildren, three sisters, Pauline & Donald Wright, North Bay, Gloria Meinen, Camden, Audrey Adragna, North Bay, two brothers, Arthur ‘Skip’ Kimball, North Bay, Victor Kimball, Blossvale, several niece & nephews. She was also predeceased by a son, Paul Meinen, June 25, 1972, step-son, Robert, and two sisters, Grace Kotwica and Barbara Mallory.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment McConnellsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Paul Meinen Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Camden High School.
