Taberg- Pastor Gordon- Lee B. Edgerton 85, of Blake Rd., passed away at his home on May 2, 2012. He was born July 10, 1926 in Stoneham, MA a son of Leon & Mildred Bradley Edgerton. Gordon served with the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. On Aug 31, 1946 he married the former Lois Farr in San Antonio, TX. He worked as a farmer and auto body technician in Royalston, MA before attending and graduating from Atlantic Union College. He became a minister in 1965 and served in various Seventh Day Adventist churches in New Hampshire, Maine and New York including, Utica, Turin and Oneida. He was currently serving the churches of Herkimer and Vienna. Gordon also owned and operated an auto body shop and used car lot in Taberg since 1984. Pastor Edgerton was a member of the N.Y.S. Conference of Seventh Day Adventist Churches and the Disabled American Veterans. At one time he drove dirt track stock cars and raised several foster children throughout the years.
Surviving are his wife Lois, a daughter Valerie J. Roberts, Taberg, three sons, Gordon & Connie, David & Vanessa Edgerton all of Camden and Richard Lawless, Taberg, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Sharon and his four siblings.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Sunday from the Vienna Seventh Day Adventist Church under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 4 –7 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vienna or Herkimer Seventh Day Adventist churches.
