Tillie Elizabeth Labecky Dillon died peacefully on January 26, 2012 at Valley Medical Center San Jose, CA. She was born March 26, 1920 in Annsville, New York to Peter and Sophie Jakubowski Labecky. Tillie is survived by her daughters Karen and Martina Dillon, her son-in-law Robert Parks, her two grandsons William and Alexander Parks, and her sister Phyllis Roof, and several nieces. She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, William Dillon.
Tillie grew up and was educated in Camden, New York. During World War II, Tillie worked in Washington DC. After the war she worked for the U.S. State Department in Vienna, Austria and in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2000 she moved to San Jose and lived for several years with each of her daughters. Tillie lived for the last 4 years at Amberwood Gardens in San Jose.
Graveside Services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday June 30th at St. Mary's Cemetery, Florence, NY, under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. A Memorial gathering afterward will be held at 1PM at Katie and Karl's Restaurant on Harden Boulevard in Camden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
