Ella J. Smith, 85 of Ocala, Fl., formerly of Camden, passed away suddenly Sunday, December 30, 2012 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica. She was born November 20, 1927 in Manhattan, NY a daughter of George and Helen Bakos Pritula.
Ella was married to Theodore W. Smith for forty nine years. They resided in the Camden area for thirty-one years. Ella was employed as a computer operator at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome for many years. She moved to Florida twenty-five years ago. Ella enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting and was an active volunteer at various hospitals in Ocala, Fl.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas G. and Terry Boyce-Smith of Annsville; Richard J. and Roseann Smith of Westmoreland; Ronald T. Smith of New Hartford; two daughters, Patricia A. and William K. Whitaker of N. Bay and Sandra M. and Walter F. Baker of Camden. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Ted Whitaker, Joshua Baker, David and Meghan Hollibaugh-Baker, Sara Baker, Adam Smith and Stacey Smith; two sisters, Doris Hansen of Staten Island and Wilma Homoki of Ocala, Fl. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore.
Memorial Services will be held 7 pm Thursday January 3, 2013 at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc. 109 Main Street, Camden. There will be no calling hours. Spring interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Williamstown.
