     John D. Vanderworken, 63, of Rome, NY passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was born on August 24, 1955 in Syracuse, NY a son of Charles & Flossie Harrington Vanderworken. John graduated from Camden High School Class of 1973. John worked at International Wire, Co., as a wire strander for thirty plus years. He loved fishing, NASCAR and baseball, his favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees.

     John is survived by his wife Cindy Vanderworken, two sons, John & Brittany Vanderworken, Kaleen, TX and Charles & Samantha Vanderworken, Blossvale, NY, four grandchildren, four sisters, Bonita Sue Simmons and JoAnn Vanderworken & Daniel Simmons, all of Camden, NY, Patricia & Rich Morrison, Harrisville, NY and Anna & Hal Babcock, Camden, NY, three brothers, Donald Vanderworken, Blossvale, NY, Ronald Vanderworken, Williamstown, NY and Michael & Debbie Vanderworken, Camden, NY. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers Richard, William and Stephen Vanderworken and one nephew, Jason Simmons.

     Calling hours will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Thursday, October 18, 2018 from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Graveside services will be held Friday 1:00 P.M. from the Maple Flats Cemetery, Cleveland, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, www.kidneyfund.org.

Please accept my sympathies for your loss. I didn’t know John for long. We sat next to each other during dialysis. I consider him a person I looked up to and someone I’d like to consider a friend. Your family will be in our prayers for strength and peace.
