Bessie M. Walker, 87, of Williamstown, NY with her family members at her side passed peacefully into her eternal home with the Lord on December 15, 2018. She was born on February 20, 1931 in Montague, NY a daughter of Harold & Eva Cushman Kellogg. Bessie resided in the Williamstown area her entire adult life. On May 21, 1949 she married George Walker. Mr. Walker and their children, Linda and Daniel, died in 1964 as the result of an automobile accident.

After the loss of her family Bessie went back to school and received her high school equivalency. She then began employment at the First Trust Bank in Parish, NY. She retired as Head Teller of KeyBank after 20 years of service. On September 10, 1966 she married William ‘Bee’ Walker in Camden, NY. Mr. Walker passed away December 10, 2016. They had enjoyed 50 years of marriage and they blessed everyone but especially their families, the Walker side and the Kellogg side. They were there to lend a helping hand to all and were always generous to a fault. Their home was a safe haven for their siblings and a myriad of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, George Walker, their children Linda and Daniel, her second husband, William Walker and their infant son, Bradley, her parents, four sisters; Catherine Murray, Elizabeth Cousineau, Norma Davis and Alice Wilson. She is survived by two brothers, Henry & Arlene Kellogg, James & Terrie Kellogg, a sister, Sharon & Kenneth Wysluzaly and multiple nieces and nephews.

She always loved dogs and especially black labs. She had enjoyed snowmobiling with “Bee” and their friends in her earlier years. She was an avid reader and card player. Her favorite thing was cooking and entertaining her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her banana bread. She was a long standing member and trustee of St. Patrick’s Church in Williamstown until its closing a number of years ago.

I have known Bessie for many years. We worked together at First Trust in Parish until she retired. Over the years we kept in close contact. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends that loved her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her remaining family and I know she is in a better place.

Bessie was so sweet and kind. She was so good to us when we were young and all through the years. We have so many great memories of Bee and Bessie and Mom and Dad. I love how the women would complain about the men when they weren't around and the men would do the same. Now they are all together with all of the family members. They deserve all the best.

To Sharon,Henry and Jim I extend my deepest sorrow.
Bessie will forever hold a special place in my heart. She was my mentor at Key Bank,a trusted loyal friend always, and the classiest lady I ever met.
