     Melanie Cook, 70 years old, passed away suddenly in the early hours of April 1, 2019 in the family home where she was born at 20 Third St. in Camden, NY.

     Melanie was born on July 3, 1948 to Roy and Thelma Empey Bronk. She attended the Camden Central Schools before earning her Beautician’s License in Utica, NY. She enjoyed spending time at Panther Lake and playing cards with loved ones. She was a long-time employee at the Mystic Stamp Company until she retired in 2009. In recent years she spent her time gardening, traveling with family, spending time with her grandchildren and hosting countless family gatherings.

     Surviving are her sister, Marsha (Bronk) Boyer, her daughter, Marchelle (Cook) Nickson, daughter-in-law, Kelly Cook, many grandchildren, Branden (Kelsey) Brown, Dustyn Hite, Mary Nickson, Zoe Nickson and Carson Cook, as well as her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Callum Brown, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Melanie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Bob Cook, her brother, Darwin Bronk, her son, Sean Cook and her son-in-law, Dr. Lexsee Nickson.

     Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Taberg, NY. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to services. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Camden Ambulance.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing! I met her several times back in
Manlius...so sweet with a great smile. It’s nice to think that she and Sean will
be together.
