     Scott R. Rice, 49, of Osceola, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on October 11, 1969 in Worcester, MA a son of Richard W. & Joanne Stockman Rice, Sr. Scott graduated from Randolph Union High School Class of 1987. After high school he worked as a carpenter at Wells Construction in Hartford, VT and LW Greenwood of East Randolph, VT. He moved to NY in 1996 and was a truck driver for most of his life, currently Scott was employed by D & E Bicek Trucking, Strattanville, PA. Scott married the former Sarah E. McGowan on July 30, 2016 in Osceola, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Scott was a huge Patriots fan and loved his Boston teams. He could be found doing projects around the house or with friends standing around a bonfire. Scott loved his two dogs, Lacey and Loki and enjoyed spending time with them.

     Scott is survived by his wife, Sarah E. Rice, father, Richard W. Rice, Sr. and his companion Faye Wurtz, Barton, VT, four brothers, Richard & Donna Rice, Jr., SC, Shawn & Denise Rice, East Randolph, VT, Daryl & Melissa Rice, West Winfield, NY, Travis Rice, Boston, MA, one sister, Samantha Jo Rice and her companion Dave, Lebanon, NH, one uncle, Randy Stockman, Palmer MA, and several nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his mother, Joanne Rice, maternal grandparents, John & Alice Stockman and paternal grandparents Edward & Priscilla Rice.

     A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 from his home, 1452 Osceola Road, Camden, NY 13316. Arrangements are under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY 13316.

Sending condolences and prayers to the entire Rice family. I was saddened to read about Scott's passing. We had a lot of good times in East Randolph VT, with Scott, his parents and his brothers and sister. Cindy (former owner East Randolph Country Store 1989-2003)
