     Raymond O. Metott, 87, of Camden, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2019. He was born on September 13, 1932 in Amboy, NY a son of Herbert M. & Grace E. Trudell Metott. Raymond was a lifelong self-employed logger working for Raymond Spinks Lumber, Rockwood Logging and Ted Poole Logging. He also worked for Laribee and Omega Wire Companies. At 87 years old Raymond still had the ability to cut fifty plus cord of wood for winter use. He attended Florence United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing.

     Raymond is survived by his longtime companion of forty-seven years, Barbara Marshall, Camden, NY, two daughters, Dena Metott Britton & Charles ‘Peter’ Britton, Southwest City, MO, Sue Metott Leclair, Westdale, NY, two sons, Osro & Patty Metott, Point Rock, NY, Roy & Yolanda Metott, Camden, NY, three step-children, Pamela & Charles Green, Vernon, NY, Daniel & Lynn Marshall, Camden, NY, Debra Marshall & Jim Westcott, Williamstown, NY, twenty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, two sisters, Marie Metott, Taberg, NY and Jane Miller, Camden, NY and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Raymond was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Herbert amd Harold Metott and one sister, Ethel Clohosey.

     Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2019 from the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Spring interment Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Camden Volunteer Fire Department and/or Camden Ambulance, 14 Church Street, Camden, NY 13316.

Ray was a sweet man with a dry sense of humor. I was lucky to have him and his family as neighbors for so many decades. He was so unstoppable, it's hard to believe he's passed.
