Harold G. Eckel, 93, of Blossvale, NY passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020 at Bethany Gardens in Rome, NY where he had been a resident for the past thirteen months. He was born on April 2, 1926 in Camden, NY a son of Charles Beach & Bessie Garnsey Eckel. Harold was a lifetime farmer and prided himself and those around him with living so long because of hard work. He was always happy to tell stories in vivid detail about days gone by when farm equipment was pulled by horses and horse drawn sleighs were used to get around in the winter. Harold will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

His “family” the Loomis’ would like to thank all of the staff at Bethany Gardens for allowing him to live his last days with dignity and for all the love and sincere care given by all who cared for him.

Besides his parents Harold was predeceased by his brother Carl B. Eckel in 2018.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 4-6:00 P.M. at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Private spring interment McConnellsville Cemetery, McConnellsville, NY.

Dear Randy and Bonnie and the entire "Loomis gang"
Much love and prayers for you all. I had the pleasure of knowing Harold because of your generosity. He loved to tell stories about times gone by. He and Carl were very special gentlemen. You were all fortunate to have had each other in your lives. It is a tribute to your kind hearts that anyone you care about is like family. I am honored to be part of it, too. Hugs to you; love, Audrey

Sincerest condolences on the passing of cousin, Harold. May be Rest in Peace as he joins his family in Heaven. I would always see Harold and his brother, Carl, when I went to the Eckel reunions. My sister, Nancy, also would like to express her deepest sympathies.
