Morgan D. Comins, 82, of Camden, NY passed away on Wednesday February 5, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica, NY. He was born on June 7, 1937 in Camden, the son of Daniel & Dorothy Watkins Comins. Morgan was a graduate of the Camden Central School District, Class of 1955. On July 13, 1963 he married Nancy E. Meagher in Camden. Nancy passed away on August 19, 2015.

Morgan was a mechanic for the Camden Central School District for over 28 years, retiring in 1994. He previously worked for the Beach Lumber Company and Rochester Shoe Tree Company of Camden. Morgan also proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church, the Camden Legion Post 66, and a charter member of the Camden Zoning Board of Appeals. He served as treasurer of the New York State Head Mechanics Association. Morgan was also a member of the Night Riders, the American Antique Club of America, the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, and was a member of the T.C. Riders Snowmobile Club. He loved spending time with his family, and tinkering with his old restored cars, trucks, and tractors.

     Surviving are two daughters, Jean & Wes Haga, Rome, and Constance & Jeffrey Platt, Camden; five grandchildren, Mark & Sarah Trnchik and Michael Trnchik, Daniel, Andrew, and Jared Platt, two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Anna Trnchik, a special son-in-law, Mark Trnchik, Sr., one brother, Charles & Margaret Comins, Camden, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Morgan was predeceased by two brothers, David and Ronald Comins.

     Calling Hours will be held Sunday from 2-5:00pm from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Camden, NY or the T.C. Riders Snowmobile Club, Camden, NY

We are so sorry to hear about Morgans passing, he was a GREAT guy and one of the best neighbors anyone could ask for, truly a gentleman who loved his family and community.

We were very sad to hear of Morgan’s passing. It was always a pleasure to visit with Morgan. He was a very knowledgeable and kind. Rest In Peace. The family are in our thoughts and prayers. Smokey and Georgi Kimball.
