Nancy J. Duerr 68, of Camden, NY passed away January 27, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY on Oct 15, 1947 a daughter of James & Dorothy Currie Cole and was a 1965 graduate of Camden High School. In 1993, she received an Associate degree in accounting from Mohawk Valley Community College. On Dec 17, 1966, she married Richard Duerr in Camden, NY.
Nancy worked at International Wire Co., for over 35 years, retiring in 2012 as payroll manager. Currently, she was president of the NYS Volunteer Fire Police Auxiliary Association. Member of Camden United Methodist Church, past member Camden Vol Fire Dept., Auxiliary and former coach for Camden Little League Baseball.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Richard, two sons, Richard & Kimberly Duerr, Joplin, MO and Robert & Lisa Duerr, Sylvan Beach, four grand-daughters, Amanda, Stephanie Downs, Rebecca and Gabriella Duerr, a sister, Judy & Bill Hider, Syracuse, NY, two brothers, James & Sue Cole, Savannah, GA and Joel Cole, Acton, MA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy enjoyed her times with family and friends and thanks all those that have helped her through the last few years. The family would also like to thank Dr. Robert Burdick, the staff at St. Elizabeth’s and Drs., Yoss, Emil Wassil and Gunther Anderson for their care and compassion shown to Nancy and her family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 -4 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Nancy enjoyed her time with fellow fire Police Auxiliary members at meetings and while raising monies for the Firemen’s Home on the Hudson. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: VFPASNY Aux. c/o Joan Rusin 1728 Cherry Valley Rd., Skaneateles, NY, 13152. She would be pleased and honored to know that the money was donated to the Firemen’s Home at the VFPASNY Convention in May 2016.
