Mary Loevenguth Cleveland, 97, formerly of Camden, NY, passed away on September 6, 2016, at Waterman Village, Mount Dora, FL.  She was born January 5, 1919, in Camden, NY, a daughter of Earle and Dorothy Fish Loevenguth.  Mary was a National Honor Society member and a 1936 graduate of Camden High School. On December 24, 1938, Neil Cleveland and Mary were united in marriage in Camden, a marriage of fifty-four years which ended with Neil’s passing in 1993.  She worked until retirement beside her husband at a business started in 1945, Mohawk Valley Wholesale Grocers, Inc.  After the sale of the business in 1978, they spent several contented winters in Clearwater, FL, but Camden remained home.  In 1999 Mary moved to Mount Dora, FL, with her daughter and returned to Camden in 2008.  Mary’s last few years were spent at Waterman Village, a retirement community in Mount Dora, FL.  Mary was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church of Camden.  She was an accomplished seamstress and took genuine pleasure in sewing for her daughter, granddaughters, and great granddaughters.  Mary was an avid reader her entire life.
Mary is survived by a son, Alan & Linda Hiltbrand Cleveland, Greer, SC; a daughter, Deborah Stone, Camden, NY; six grandchildren, Douglas Cleveland, Nancy & Daniel Plunkett, Lynne Cleveland, Michael, Steven, and David & Katherine  Stone; eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandson; and four nieces.  She was predeceased by a brother, Wilson Loevenguth, and a son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Violet Cleveland.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc.  Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at 1-2 pm, prior to memorial service at the funeral home, 109 Main St., Camden, NY.
