George R. De La Roche, 94, Camden, NY, passed away peacefully October 18, 2016 at the Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Rome, NY.  He was born September 26, 1922, a son of Herman and Edith Walker De La Roche in Camden, NY. George served in the United States Army during World War II.  During wartime he was united in marriage to the former Daisy O. Green on December 15, 1945 at St. Martin’s Church, in Little Waltham, England.  George was a furniture upholsterer for the Harden Furniture Company in McConnellsville, NY for thirty four years, retiring in September of 1984. He was a member of the Lt. Victor Giles VFW, Camden, and a member and board of director of the CNY Mohican Model ‘A’ Club.  George enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and camping.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy, two daughters, Marie & William Cook, Camden, NY, and Dawn & Michael Miranda, San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Johnathan (Jessica) Miranda, and Rita Cook; great grandchildren, Jon Gordon, Valerie Cook, Benjamin and Kate Miranda; three sisters, Mary LaFave, Edna Graham, and Bertha Clarke, all of Camden, NY, two brothers, Arthur and Ernest De La Roche, both of Camden, NY, and several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Robert (Shirley) LaFave and John LaFave.  George was predeceased by a grandson, William Cook, two sisters, Elsie Grinnell and Mildred Chamberlain, and two brothers, John and Herman.
Private services will be held under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main St., Camden.  There will be no calling hours.  Memorial contributions may be in George’s memory to the CNY Mohican Model ‘A’ Club, c/o Bruce Burke, 204 N. Lake St., Oneida, NY, 13421.
