Raymond L. Dunn 89, went to be with his Lord on February 19, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born August 30, 1927 in Camden, NY the son of Walter & Edna Miller Breeze. Ray served his country with the U.S. Army first during WWII from 1945-46 and again during the Korean War from 1950-52. Between the wars, Ray built many houses with his father in the Camden and surrounding areas.  On May 16, 1952 he married the former Winifred Coltson in Camden, NY. He retired from the Camden Wire Co., in 1991 after 40 years, 15 years as a mechanic and the later 25 years as a foreman. His passion and hobby was working in the woods as he provided for his household and others. He especially enjoyed the time he spent raising and nurturing his several Norwegian Elk Hounds through-out the years. Ray was also a life-time member and former trustee of the United Methodist Church, Camden, NY where he also served as Head Usher for several years.
Ray is survived by his wife Winnie and their five children; Linda & John Grant, Joan Dunn, all of Camden, Stephen & Dorcus Dunn, Florence, NY, LeRoy & Pamula Dunn, USN Retired, Norfolk, VA, Cindy Moses, Ft. Myers, FL, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, a half-sister, Carol Sykes, a half-brother, Howard Breeze and several nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by a sister, Esther Wentworth and two brothers, Russell and Ronald Dunn. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., New Hartford, NY for their services during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held 7:00pm Wednesday from the United Methodist Church, Camden, NY. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the church from 4:00pm until services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.

Ray will be missed. He was a great man, husband, father, and citizen. Sorry for your loss and may you remember only the great moments Ray brought to all of us. We know he is at peace now. I take comfort in that thought.

I’m very sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. He was a cornerstone of our family for many decades and leaves me with only fond memories since my youth. His quiet strength and resilience will be missed but not soon forgotten.
