Phillip J. Drought, Sr., 63, of Camden, NY, passed away  Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. He was born on December 13, 1953 in Rome, NY, a son of Royce P. & Jeanette Rood Drought and was a graduate of Camden High School. He had been employed by Camden Wire Co., and the International Wire Companies since 1973, never missing a day of work. He married the former Lois Collins on October 10, 1998 in Camden, NY. Phillip was known for tinkering with gadgets and electronics and was a fan of the dollar stores.

      A genuine and giving person, Phillip is survived by his mother, Jeanette, his loving wife, Lois, three sons, Michael Drought, Florence, Phillip, Drought, Jr., Vernon, and Chris & Kim Drought, Florence, three grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Drought, Vernon, one niece and nephew, and several cousins. Besides his father, he was predeceased one brother, Patrick Drought.

      Memorial services will be held 4:00 P.M., Thursday, April 20, 2017 from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. A Calling hour will be held from 3:00-4:00, Thursday, prior to services at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Town of Camden Ambulance Service, 14 Church Street, Camden, NY, 13316.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers!
Phil was so very kind and a real gentleman too...I can't count the times he helped us girls with something here at work and always did so with kindness and good humor! I fondly remember one particular time he even came running up first thing in the morning when I had trapped a wayward squirrel in my garbage can and paged him in a panic! He had a good laugh and then took the poor thing outside and let him loose!
We thank God that we had the chance to know Phil and we will miss him!
