Camden- Charlotte B. Williams, 82, of Second Street, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 20, 1935 in Owasco, NY a daughter of Charles & Claire Higgins Baker. Charlotte graduated from Moravia Central School and then Auburn Memorial Hospital School of Nursing with a Nursing diploma.

She was united in marriage to David H. Williams on September 3, 1955 in Owasco Reformed Church, he passed away October 13, 1984. Charlotte was a lifelong nurse, retiring from Camden High School as a school nurse in 2000. During her career she initiated and created the Teenage A.I.D.S. Task Force in Camden High School.

Charlotte was a member of the Rotary Club of Camden and was active with their Christmas Basket Program. She was also a member of the Arthur S. Moran American Legion Post #66 Auxiliary and the Auburn Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.  The family would like to thank Dr. Swarnkar, Dr. Kreznar, Dr. Wright, Dr. Jurdy, Dr. Krol and the staff of 10E at Upstate along with Charlotte’s favorite nurse, Chelsea Kaye and nurse technician, Gina for their compassionate and conscientious care.

Many thanks to the Camden Ambulance, especially Norm Wallis, Dustin Hite, and Mike Wilson, for bringing Mom to Upstate Medical Center.  Knowing that we interrupted their nights' sleep and made along trip on her behalf gave our mother safety at a crucial time.  She was comforted by familiar faces and grateful to be served by the community that she so dearly loved.

Surviving are two daughters,  Leslie Williams  & Marvin Sipley, Camden, NY, Janet & John Shannon, McConnellsville, NY, three sons, Bruce Williams & Tamie Montalvo, Fulton, NY, Perry & Zeny Williams, Camden, NY  and Hal & Bridget Williams, Oneida, twelve grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a longtime companion, John Leskoske, Sylvan Beach, NY and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Hatfield and a brother, Charles H. Baker.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Camden, 132 Main Street, under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Camden, NY. There will be no calling hours. Charlotte had a life time passion for learning and educating. She had chosen to donate her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate. Leslie, Janet, Perry, Bruce, Hal, John, and all your family members, I am so very sorry to hear about Charlotte. She was a lovely, caring and funny woman who meant the world to my Mom. Matter of fact, both of your parents were great friends of Mom & Jim. They enjoyed so many fun times together! She loved all of you so much and was so proud of you and your families. May your happy memories of her comfort and sustain you and bring you peace today and in the days and years ahead.
