Richard Allan “Rick” Duerr, Jr., 50, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.
       Rick was born on September 3, 1967, in Camden, NY, son of the late Nancy Jane Cole & Richard A. Duerr, Sr., of Camden. He grew up in Camden and graduated from Camden High School before attending Mohawk Valley Community College, and then Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, OK, where he received his degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology in 1993. He was certified as a level 4 Technologist by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. He was currently a Fire Protection Engineer with the Joplin Fire and Safety Protection Company (MARMIC). He was also a former volunteer fireman for Camden, and Broken Arrow, OK.
     Rick was a longtime devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of Joplin. He served on the Martin Luther School Board for several years, and designed and managed the addition of safe rooms for the school.
     In addition to his mother, Nancy Duerr, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Dan Salters.
     He was a very devoted husband to his wife, Kimberly C. Salters Duerr; and father to his daughters, Rebecca and Gabriella. Also surviving are his father, Richard A. Duerr, Sr. of Camden; brother, Robert & Lisa Duerr of Sylvan Beach, NY; mother-in-law, Chistiane Knaus, of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Peter & Jennie Salters of Valentine, NE.
       A Memorial Service will be held at Noon, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the United Methodist Church of Camden, 132 Main Street, under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden, NY. Calling hours will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the start of services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Camden Alumni Association C/O Registrar Lance Williams, 15 Selden Drive, Rome, NY 13440.

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Rick's passing. I have so many great memories growing up and camping with him and his Grandma Dot Cole and my grandparents. He was always a sweet guy and I am sure will missed by all that knew him.
