Florence- Norman H. Williams, 86, of Old River Road, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Oneida Healthcare, Oneida, NY, where he had been a resident since September 29, 2017. He was born in Camden, NY, on March 3, 1931, a son of Harold W. & Elvira Dale Williams. Norman graduated from Camden High School class of 1949 and attended Cornell University where he received a certificate in Animal Husbandry. He tested milk in the Oneida County area in the early 1950’s. Norman was united in marriage to the former Mary Elizabeth Mooney on August 3, 1957 in North Bay, NY. He owned and operated the River CB Radio Shop in Camden, NY from 1977 to 1985. Norman was employed by Jay’s Sales and Service as a parts manager for 44 years. He later was employed by Don’s Ford of Rome, NY, and Napa Auto Parts.
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Mary Williams, two children, Norma & Mike Robinson of Camden, NY, John & Annette Williams of Durhamville, NY, four grandsons, Michael Drought, Phillip Drought, Christopher & Kim Drought and Zachary Williams, three great grandchildren, Kaylee, Codie, and Victoria, one sister, Sheila & Elmer Wright of Camden, NY, three brothers, Ray & Elaine Williams of Wampsville, NY, Dave & Kathy Williams and Dale & Linda Williams, all of Camden, NY, also several nieces and nephews.
At Norman’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. Memorial contributions may be made in Norman’s memory to the Florence Volunteer Fire Dept., 11899 TC – Florence Road, Camden, NY 13316, C/O Dick Macnamara, Treasurer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main St., Camden, NY.
