     Ronald E. Chase, Sr. 78 of Blossvale, NY passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born February 14, 1939 in Canton, NY a son of Donald & Lola Trudell Chase. He served with the U.S. Army from 1957-59.  On January 24, 1960 he married the former Helen Herringshaw in Sodus, NY. She passed away March 16, 2007. He then married Patricia L. Bielby on November 11, 2011 at the Vienna United Methodist Church. Ron worked for many years for Marshall & Houseman Co., as their parts manager prior to becoming a franchised owner/operator of Snap-On Tools. He was self-employed for 25 years.

     Surviving besides his wife, Patty are three daughters, Karen & Stephen Gates, North Bay, NY, Kimberly Walters, McConnellsville, Kathy Cobb & Bill Portner, Vienna, two sons, Donald & Amy Chase, Ronald Chase all of Camden, NY, a step-son, Robert Smith, Blossvale, NY, 10 grandchildren,
11 great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard Chase, Canton, NY, a half-sister, Deborah Herringshaw, a half-brother, Edward Chase, and several nieces & nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Sevey and Leona Chase, his in laws, Robert & Bernice Allison and a step-son, Melvin Smith.

     Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Private interment McConnellsville Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Boys Town, Omaha, NE or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN in lieu of flowers. So sad to hear of Ron's passing, I was a customer of his for many years, and although he my have never known it, he made a big impact on my life. I always smile when I think of Ron.
