     David J. Prichard, 75, of California Road, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home. He was born on May 21, 1943 in Utica, NY a son of Lynn & Lois Mitchell Prichard and was a graduate of Camden High School. David served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict era. He worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter’s Union Local #12, Syracuse, NY for nearly 30 years. He and his wife, the former Eleanor Short owned and operated L-P Lumber for many years. Eleanor passed away January 7, 2002. David was a talented craftsman in all respects. His favorite hobby was as a sport pilot, logging over 2000 hours of flight time over the course of 50 years as a pilot. He also enjoyed four-wheeling and reading. David was a member of the Arthur S. Moran American Legion Post #66, North East Regional Council of Carpenters Local #277 and the Experimental Aircraft Assoc., and attended many of their Sun ‘n Fun Fly In and Expo’s in Lakeland, FL. David also volunteered his time at The Francis House, the Sisters of St. Francis Convent, Syracuse and other area nursing homes spending time with the residents by visiting, sharing stories or reading to them.

     Surviving are a daughter, Melissa & Michael Congden, Camden, two sons, Charles & Hope Collins, Ft. Belvoir, VA  and Matthew D. Prichard and Robert Dichappari, Scottsdale, AZ, four grandchildren; Zachary, Christopher, Eleanor and Olivia, a great-grandson, Isaiah, a sister, Lynda & Barcley Mutch, Camden, a brother, Thomas & Beverly Prichard, North Bay, NY and several nieces & nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Karen Brown.

     A Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. There will be no calling hours. Spring interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden, NY.  Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Camden Public Library and/or The Francis House, Syracuse, NY. Melissa and family so sorry for your lose. He will be missed..I know he was a wonderful man with many talents. I can tell this be the wonderful children he had and all the great things they have done. He can now look down on all of you and smile at how successful his life was. You are in my prayers and thoughts.

I was saddened to hear about your Dad. I so wanted him to visit Matt here in Scottsdale so I could meet him and show him the garden that he heard so much about. My thoughts are with all of you.
