     William ‘Bill’ T. Ballard, 77, formerly of Williamstown, NY and Pulaski, NY passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Van Duyn Nursing Home, Syracuse, NY where he had been a resident for four years. He was born on June 23, 1941 in Altmar, NY a son of William & Gladys Evans Ballard and was a 1959 graduate of Altmar-Parish High School. William proudly served with the United States Navy from February 9, 1961 to February 6, 1963. On September 4, 1964 he married the former Joyce C. Sweatland in Williamstown, NY, she passed away October 9, 2016. Bill worked as a boilermaker for Local Lodge 175, Oswego, NY. He attended the former United Presbyterian Church in Williamstown and later was an active member of Pulaski Wesleyan Church. Bill was a longtime fan, follower and booster of APW sports and marching band events.

     William is survived by a daughter, Michelle & Ron Kowanes, Lowville, NY a son, William & Eileen Ballard, Syracuse, NY, four grandchildren; Caroline & Dan Grabowski, Kelly Kowanes, Cain and Evan Ballard, five great grandchildren, one brother, Marlin & Dr. Velma Ballard, Chesapeake, VA, two sisters, M. Dawn Strickland, Oxford, AR and Mary Ballard, Fellsmere, FL and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Pyke and B. Joan Bush.

     Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown, NY. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to APW Sports and/or Band Boosters Club in lieu of flowers.

We are so sorry we can't be there with you in your time of grief. Our prayers are with you all. We cherish the memories we had with him. He is in the arms of our savior. Praise God!!!

He was a very good man. Very supportive of the marching band. Remember seeing him often at parades. Sorry for your lose. R.I.P. Bill.

Our deepest condolences to all in the Ballard clan.

Bill was a great part of Carries life and we truly enjoyed the time we spent together.

He was a quick whit and never has a loss for words.
