     Milton ‘Jim’ James Alger, 83, of Oswego, NY formerly of Camden, NY passed away peacefully at his granddaughters home on Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was born on March 17, 1936 in Parish, NY a son of Glenn & Pearl Trumble Alger. Jim graduated from Paul V Moore High School and proudly served with the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He was a Camden resident since 1961 moving from Bernhard’s Bay, NY.  Jim married the former Annabelle Manning on March 17, 1961 in Camden, NY, she passed away December 31, 1995. He retired from Camden Wire Company as head mechanic on March 27, 1997 after twenty five years of employment. Jim then married the former Joan Williamson on October 6, 2006 in Camden, NY, she passed away May 26, 2017. He was a member of the Christian faith and former commander and member of Arthur S. Moran American Legion Post #66. Jim enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, camping, playing horseshoes and Pinochle.

     Jim is survived by his granddaughter whom he raised, Jody Martin & Donald Graham, three daughters, Donna & John Harris, JoAnne Grieco and Debra Conklin, one sister Sandra Birmingham, one brother, Donald & Carole Alger, grandchildren, John D. Harris,Tammy Harris LoDrago, Michael Grieco Bly, Joseph Bly, Lindsey Gilliam, Edward Grieco, Michael Smith and Angela Smith, great grandchildren, Alyssa Goldberg, Katja Harris, Benjamin Martin, Bronsyn LoDrago, Bryant LoDrago and Ella Bly, several nieces and nephews including Evelyn Lovenguth, Lynne & Daniel Marshall and Ralph Denicola whom watched over Jim in the last few years. Besides his parents Jim was predeceased by one son, John Grieco, two brothers, Stanley and Glenn ‘Pete’ Alger, four sisters, Irene Fosdick, Rosella Huntley, Shirley Babcock and Patricia Ruel.

     Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2019 from West Amboy Cemetery under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur S. Moran Post #66, 2422 Moran Post, Camden, New York 13316.

My Uncle Jim was great friend .he always had good things to say to I rember what he said to me when my dad his brother Stan. Bug to others not . Not all father get to pick his son and or daughter nor they pick there father. I was lucky love u dad love. You Uncle Jim anthony
