Dorothy Alena “Nana” Agan, 86, of North Bay, NY passed away on Wednesday evening, February 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born February 25, 1934 in North Bay, NY, a daughter of Clyde & Pearl Hayes Matthews and was educated in Camden Schools. She had previously worked at Laribee Wire Co., Camden Schools and the Stonebarn Castle. On March 18, 1967 she married Jesse R. Agan in Durhamville, NY. Mr. Agan passed away January 1, 1999. Dorothy was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church, and longtime member, past Vice President and fundraising chairperson for the North Bay Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and was a member of the “Rural Rhythm Ramblers” and “Old Friends” bands. Dorothy also loved stopping at yard sales, but it was her family that she loved the most.

     Surviving are four daughters, Dale & Bill Corcoran, Amboy Center, NY, Melissa Agan & Bob Talbot, Verona, NY, Jessica & Skip Talbot and Rebecca Agan, all of North Bay, NY, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three brothers, Joe & Alice Matthews, North Bay, Harold Matthews, Blossvale and Don & Shelly Matthews, Camden, NY along with several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, James ‘Bud’ Matthews, a sister, Colleen and three brothers, Elmer, Larry and Fritz Matthews.

     Funeral services will be held 2:00pm on Sunday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Private interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes, NY. Calling hours will be held Sunday from Noon-2:00pm prior to services at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. Following the funeral services, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Vienna United Methodist Church at 4:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to North Bay Volunteer Fire Department, in lieu of flowers.
