Kenneth D. Light, Sr., 81 of Camden, NY passed away Friday March 20, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born April 8, 1938 in Redfield, NY a son of Royal & Nora Morris Light and was a lifelong resident of the Camden area.  Ken previously served with the U.S. National Guard. On July 19, 1958 he married the former Rose Kelley in Camden, NY. Rose passed away Sept 23, 1994. He then married the former Cynthia Yager in Redfield, NY on June 1, 2002. Ken worked for multiple car dealerships from 1958-1970 including Carbone’s and Walter’s Chevrolet before opening his own business, Camden Auto Service which specialized in auto repairs and a Polaris dealership from 1970 until his retirement in 2010.
He had a love for flying and earned his pilot license in 1985. He enjoyed flying his Cessna Cardinal 177. He was a member of the EAA Chapter 486 in Oswego County. He was extremely proud of reaching the milestone of flying over 300 young Eagle Scout recipients. He also had a love for cars, especially his 1970 Oldsmobile 442. He was an avid race car fan and enjoyed serving as the crew chief for Todd Gordon and loved following Todd’s career and success in NASCAR. Ken also enjoyed snowmobiling trips with his close Osceola lunch friends and was a member of the T.C. Riders Snowmobile Club.
Surviving are his wife Cindy, three daughters, Maureen, Karin and Kalin, two sons, Ken Light, Jr and Kevin Light, three step daughters, Kitty Turk, Stephanie & Mike Kowalski and Crystal & Marc Woodcock and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He cherished his time spent with his special grandchildren; Landyn, Jaxon, Hudsyn and Kyla ‘Sweetie Pie’. Also surviving are a brother, David & Frances ‘Cookie’ Light and several nieces & nephews.
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic guidelines, Funeral services under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY will be private, there will be no calling hours. Interment St. Johns Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mike Willson and Benson Cook along with Hospice & Palliative Care for the care and concern shown to Kenneth and his family. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Camden Ambulance.

We are so sorry to hear of your family’s loss! Ken was a shining light in our town of Camden! He always had a smile when we went into his shop for whatever reason it happened to be. He will be missed.

Our cousin Joan notify me today of Kenneth's passing. Please know our love and care are with you. He is my oldest cousin. I'm sure his mom and dad and grandma and grandpa and my mom and dad are all happy to see him and they're having a joyous celebration on the other side of the veil. Have peace in knowing he is with them now.
