Taya M. Burke, 23, of Camden, NY passed away May 13, 2020.  Taya was a sweet, innocent, spunky little girl with long locks of beautiful hair. She lit up the room with smile and laughter. Being in her presence made you smile too. Her love for life was infectious. She was always seen with her baby doll in tow, a natural born “Momma”. She matured into a beautiful, young mother, exactly what she was always meant to be, and she passed on her kind, loving soul to her perfect little girls.  Addiction changed all that. It took away our sweet little girl. It silenced the laughter. It dimmed her shine. Taya lost her battle with addiction, and with that we lost a piece of ourselves. Yet somehow, we are so much more for having her in our lives. We love you Tate, until we meet again.

Taya was born January 31, 1997 in Oneida, NY, a daughter of Gregory S. Granger and Kimberley Gardner. She was a 2014 graduate of Camden High School where she was active in cheerleading, both in Football and Basketball. She most recently worked as a CNA for Rome Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are her parents, Kimberley & Jason Kahler, Camden, NY, Gregory & Lisa Granger, Rome, NY, her husband, Robert ‘Bobby’ Burke, two lovely daughters, Miyah and Arabella Burke, Williamstown, NY, her grandparents, Connie Gardner, Williamstown, NY, Patricia Landry, Westmoreland, NY, Marvin & Sherry Granger, North Bay, NY, Linda & John Oppenheim, Ilion, NY, James & Cindy Kahler, Little Falls, NY, four sisters, Lindsey & Jimmy Spencer, Rome, NY, Brittany Granger, Westmoreland, NY, Cinnamon Kahler and Autumn Kahler both of Camden, NY, three nephews; Mason, Ethan and Noah along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Taya was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Claude Gardner.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, funeral arrangements under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home Inc. will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Taya’s name may be made to her daughters’ 529 College Fund by going to Ugift529.com and using gift codes P7A-619 for Arabella and K7B-G3R for Miyah.
