Nancy L. Bishop 67, of Williamstown, NY passed away at her home on November 12, 2020. She was born March 10, 1953 in Montpelier, VT a daughter of Richard & Thelma Kennedy Farnsworth and was educated in the Tupper Lake Schools and Bryant & Stratton. She moved to Central New York from the Tupper Lake area nearly 30 years ago. Nancy retired from Oswego Hospital as a home healthcare aide. She previously worked as an accountant for Fastek an Eastman Kodak company in Liverpool, NY.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim Bishop and a son, Mark & Jeanette Bishop, all of Williamstown, NY, five grandchildren; Daniel, Ryan, Matthew, Kaylee and Ashlee, a great grandson, Axell, her father, Richard Farnsworth, Hastings, NY, two sisters, Ann Farnsworth, Hastings, NY and Florence Kennedy, Watertown, NY, a brother, Douglas Farnsworth, Williamstown, NY and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her fiancé’ Robert R. Pettit, 2008 and her mother, Thelma Farnsworth, 2012.
Our Mom: The friendliest most caring woman you could meet who was unfortunately stricken at a young age with health problems. She was an extremely tough cookie who fought these battles on a daily basis and still found time to smile. She fought long and hard and right up to the very end she was ready to get up and fight again. PT was scheduled for the morning after her last arrival home from the hospital, but turns out God had a different plan. He saw how tired she was and let her rest, sparing her from feeling defeated. Mom always wanted to be able to take care of herself, to never be any kind of burden on anyone. She always had a warm smile and interesting conversation for anyone who visited her even on the bad days. Mom was the backbone for our family for many years, if you had a problem, she did everything to find a solution. She always made sure her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild felt loved and cared for even when she couldn’t care for herself. We are going to miss that big smile and joyful laugh so much. I’ll always hold our memories of coming home from work to get you your meds and talk about our day, then tuck you into bed for the night saying, “I love you Momma “close to my heart. We love you Mom, xoxo.
