Jerry E. Britton, Sr. 79, of Williamstown, NY passed away Christmas evening 2020 at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego, NY where he had been a resident since March 2016. Jerry was born July 10, 1941 in Altmar, NY a son of William W. & Julia Oyer Britton and was a 1960 graduate of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and had served until 1965 having been stationed in Turkey, Greece and Marysville, Ca and Novato, Ca. On Feb 6, 1965 he married the former Carole Wright in Novato, CA.
Jerry was a member of the Hastings -Gorski American Legion, Williamstown, NY, also served as Fire Codes Officer for the Town of Williamstown, played and coached both Camden Tavern League Softball and Camden Little League Baseball. Jerry enjoyed playing pitch, working on small engines and spending time woodworking. Jerry worked construction throughout New York State for many years, also served as a mechanic to the Oswego County Highway Department before working for Farnsworth Printing and then retiring from Madison -Oneida County BOCES as a senior offset pressman .
Surviving besides his wife Carole are four children, Jay Britton & Paula (Johnson) Britton, Pulaski, NY , Douglas Britton, Baldwinsville, NY, Julia & Matthew DeLuca, Atlanta, GA and Heather & Steve Hnatko, Liverpool, NY, 8 grandchildren, 1 great, grand-daughter, two sisters, Rosalie & William Platt, Williamstown, NY, D. Jean & Alfred Kinney, Westdale, NY, four brothers, Brian & Cathy Britton, Lawrence Britton & Janet Pappa Conway, all of Williamstown, NY, Keith & Carol Britton, West Monroe, NY and Steve & Mary Jo Britton, Camden, NY, two sisters in law, Ann Britton, Rensselaer, NY and Keitha Britton, Williamstown, NY and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William & Rodney Britton and a sister, Pauline Hale.
Public Calling Hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 pm at LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Private family services will be held later this week. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Fair View Cemetery, Williamstown, NY. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hastings-Gorski American Legion, Williamstown, NY
