Donald G. Edwards, Jr., 73, of Camden, NY passed away on Monday May 24, 2021 at the Veteran’s Administration Health Center, Syracuse, NY where he had been a patient for three days. He was born in Rome, NY on July 19, 1947 a son of Donald & Alwilda Patricks Edwards. Donald entered the U. S. Navy in 1964 and was a Viet Nam veteran and was discharged from active duty in 1968 to the Naval Reserves. On June 16, 1973 he married the former B. Nancy Keil in Camden, NY. Don was a mechanical contractor his entire life having worked for American Airlines in Oriskany and for P & C Markets (Penn Traffic) and had also operated Maintenance Services & Food Equipment for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the Meeker-O’Rourke American Legion Post #1309, Taberg, NY was Past Commander of the Oneida County American Legion and longtime member of the Jack McDonald Club.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy, two sons, Chad D. Edwards & Jodi Wallace, Todd M. Edwards & Courtney O’Rourke, all of Camden, NY, two daughters, Hailey R. Hicks, Blossvale, NY and Sherri Miles, Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho,7 grandchildren; Jacob, Dominick, Willow, Trey, Kiya, Abbi and Kaitlyn along with several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Elaine and Linda.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc.,
Camden, NY will be private. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Meeker-O’Rourke American Legion Post #1309, Taberg, NY.

Nancy and Family, we of Taberg 1309 American Legion Riders send our condolences for the loss of your husband and father, Don. Don was not just our Judge Advocate but a great friend to all of us Riders at our Post. Don will be sadly missed by us all, a great legionnaire known for knowledge and guidance. May God guide you through this time.

We are so sorry for your loss. We will remember Don always as a happy, honorable man with a smile for everyone. Walt has so many great memories from the good old days cruising with Don and the guys!

Our sincere condolences to you and the family...Barry and Don were best friends growing up..and went into the Navy on the buddy system together..He was a great man and will be missed..RIP my friend..

To the entire Edwards family: so sorry to find Don had passed! Since our move to Baldwinsville no longer get Queen Central.
I was friends with Don from our teenage years when he lived in Lee and I in Taberg. Will always remember Don for his smile which he readily gave to all.
Lived a life and raised a family anyone would be proud of.
RIP old friend!
