Music by The Piano Brothers

Robert Jonathan Prest, born 1928 to Charles & Mary Prest in McConnellsville, NY, passed away in Rome, NY. He is survived by two siblings, David and Jason Prest, three daughters, Ellie Smith, Muriel Weidemann, and Sheri Prest-Herman, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. During his 92 years on this planet, Robert, best known as Bob, held many jobs from tree trimming to commercial cleaning but he was beloved as an Iron Worker and farmer. He helped to build large structures and power plants throughout the country. So when you cross a bridge or see a high rise building or hospital, think of men and women like him who risked their lives to build them and make them safe for all of us to use daily.
After retirement from Iron work, Bob put his green thumb to work tilling the soil, planting, and harvesting at the Prest Family Farm where he offered fresh produce and Seventh-day Adventist words of wisdom in the form of free books and personal chats.
At Bob’s request, no viewing, funeral or memorial services will be held. But the family invites you to a celebration of life gathering to convene at the Tree of Life in Heaven. Admission is easily obtained through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ with belief and relationship in Him as the Son of the Most High God, Creator of all. Please know that admission is available and open to ALL !  The family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, that donations are directed to local children in need of shoes. Reach out to your church, school or family members for inspiration.

Me. Prest was so kind to my family when I grew up in McConnellsville, often giving us produce. He was a kind gentle soul, and those who loved him and called him friend, especially in his final weeks, will miss him greatly. May Bob Rest In Peace.

I first met Bob and Jean while attending a Bible seminar . We started going to church and worshiped with them. Both Bob and Jean were wonderful ,kind people and shared many spiritual messages . As Jean is missed , Bob will be also. My heart and condolences go out to the family.

I will never forget your kindness and caring heart, words of wisdom, and your wonderful stories of the past. Stories of my sister, as a child, I will carry with me always.
I have fond memories of going with my father as a child, picking strawberries on your farm. Bill and I will miss your visits at Flo's. Rest in peace dear friend until Jesus comes to take us home.
